As an undergraduate student
Students in undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering (including international course) at Kyushu University, will be invited to Lab tour twice in a year, and have an opportunity to select the lab usually in March. Please refer to the lab introduction document for the overall concept of the lab. Contact us if you have any questions, anytime.
As a master’s degree student
As we are studying in the interdisciplinary area, the lab bridges over Department of Mechanical Engineering and Graduate School of Systems Life Science. Those who wish to study with us in the graduate school, have opportunity to select either one of the departments. Although the research activity in the lab would be same or very close between two departments, the two departments provide distinguishing programs and enrollment systems. If you plan to join the lab through MEXT scholarship with university recommendation, please send us your academic transcript with GPA, of your immediate academic degree to evaluate the eligibility for application.
As a Ph.D. student
As same as a master’s degree student, there are two ways of studying with us in Ph.D. course. Note that the lab will not be able to provide salary to Ph.D. student, and encourage the student to obtain scholarship such as from JSPS. If you would like to study in Ph. D. course, please contact us, anytime.
As a research student
If you would like to join us first as a reseach student for preparing your master’s degree or Ph.D. course, please read the following instruction. As a research student, we recommend you to joint us either from April or Oct. for making your procedures easier. Note that these periods only apply for research student, and master’s degree and Ph.D. course depend on your schedule of application/entrance examination.
From April
If you wish to start your study from April, send us your application from 1st to 31th August in the previous year.
(If your tentative first year of study is in 2023, the application should be submitted from 1st until 31th August 2022.) We plan to announce the result of selection within two weeks after the application deadline.
From October
If you wish to start your study from October send us your application from 1st to 28th February in the same year .
(If your tentative first year of study is in 2023, the application should be submitted from 1st until 28th February 2023.) We plan to announce the result of selection within two weeks after the application deadline.
Application for research student
As for your application, we kindly ask you to submit us the following documents (in English or Japanese).
- CV (free form)
- Motivation letter (why would you like to join us?)
- Description of your tentative research project (free form)
- Academic transcript of your bachelor’s degree

To submit the application, send the digital version of your application by e-mail.
Please be keen on the submitting period depending on your starting period of study, described above.

We are not able to provide any details regarding the other labs in Kyushu University or other universities.
